Representing Delaware’s State Health Improvement Plan (SHIP) and the UD Partnership for Healthy Communities, SHIP Team members Kate Culhane-Suluai and Catlynn Senquiz had the opportunity to connect with inspiring leaders, practitioners, and community partners from across the country at the Campus Compact Conference 2026.
One of the highlights for the SHIP was facilitating our session: “Pollinators in Action: Building Bridges Through Delaware’s State Health Improvement Plan”. Without dedicated funding, we’ve leaned into what does sustain impact — building trust, connecting partners, and empowering students to help bridge institutional gaps.
If you would like to review the materials, we’ve attached slides below.

We’re proud to share that two members of our SHIP Team represented the University of Delaware on the international stage at the 18th International Congress of Behavioral Medicine in Vienna, Austria. Dr. Yendelela Cuffee (pictured on the left), delivered an oral presentation on “Examining Age - Based Discrimination and Physical and Mental Wellness among Middle -Aged and Older Adults.” Postdoctoral researcher Dr. Alexandra Wynn (pictured on the right) presented her dissertation research via poster on “Barriers and Facilitators to Obtaining Care in Black Emerging Adults.” Their work highlights critical issues in health equity and behavioral medicine, and we are thrilled to see their expertise contributing to global conversations around advancing public health. Congratulations to both Dr. Cuffee and Dr. Wynn on this incredible achievement!

On Friday, April 18, graduate assistant, Catlynn Senquiz, presented a research poster on the SHIP Coalition’s impact on Delawareans at the 3rd Annual InnovatHER: Empowering Women in STEM Research Showcase, hosted by UD Grad Scientista. The event allowed students to present research, develop skills, and connect with peers and professionals. Catlynn’s poster highlighted the Coalition's community impact! The poster is available below in the Poster Presentation section of this page.
On Thursday, March 20th, two graduate assistants from the SHIP team participated in the University of Delaware's College of Health Sciences Research and Innovation Day.
