On Thursday, June 5, Katlyn Culhane-Suluai and Dr. Alexandra Wynn proudly represented the UD Partnership for Healthy Communities and the SHIP at the Advancing Healthy Lifestyles (AHL) Conference 2025, hosted at Delaware State University by the Division of Public Health’s Physical Activity, Nutrition, and Obesity Prevention (PANO) program. The conference brought together an inspiring cross-section of public health professionals, policymakers, advocates, educators, and researchers to share best practices and tackle the root causes of chronic disease and obesity in Delaware. We’re grateful to be part of these critical conversations and to continue working alongside dedicated partners to advance healthier, more equitable outcomes for all Delawareans.
On Monday November 18th, SHIP team members, Dr. Alexandra Wynn, who is a Postdoctoral Researcher, and Katlyn Cullhane-Suluai, who serves as the Program Manager, was able to attend the Gun Violence and Public Health Forum in Wilmington, Delaware. This event was hosted by the Coalition for a Safe Delaware. Dr. Wynn had the opportunity to serve as a panelist on behalf of the SHA/SHIP. During her time on the panel, Dr. Wynn discussed what we have been doing as a state, what we want to do next and identified any gaps. She was able to provide a holistic perspective, while tying in the vital conditions, as to why gun violence is an issue.

Stakeholders from around the State gathered to discuss Delaware’s State Health Improvement Plan, network with key programs, and focus on the needs and focus areas in Delaware. The Executive Summary and complete 2019 SHIP Annual Report were available ahead of the meeting. The meeting was held in the Audion at STAR Tower, University of Delaware on Wednesday, October 23, 2019.
